Full Eligibility Details

  • General Duty (GD) :- (i) Should hold a degree of recognized university with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
    (ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% marks in each subject. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess and aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
  • Commercial Pilot Licence (SSA) :- (i) Should have passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics.The candidates who have completed diploma are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
    (ii) Should possess current commercial pilot licence issued/ validated by director general civil aviation on the date of submission of application.
  • Technical (Mechanical) :- (i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks. Or
    Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section 'A' and 'B' and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
    (ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% marks in each subject. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
  • Technical (Electrical/ Electronics) :- (i) Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks. Or
    Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section 'A' and 'B' and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
    (ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% marks in each subject. Physical Test Details

Heigh :- Assistant Commandant (GD): 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.

Weight :- Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.

Chest :- Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.

Eye Sight :- Asst Commandant (GD)- 6/6 6/9 - Uncorrected without Glass. 6/6 6/6 - Corrected with Glass.

Tattoo :- Permanent body tattoos are not permitted on any part of the body. However, certain concessions are permitted to candidates belonging to tribal areas/ communities as declared by the Govt. of India. For other candidates permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand. How To Apply

  1. The name of the candidate, father/ mother's name and date of birth should be same as mentioned in the Xth class passing certificate. Any mismatch in name & date of birth in the application will result in rejection of the application.
  2. Indicate exact percentage of XIIth and Graduation marks upto two decimals and this is not to be rounded off and Filling up of information like personal email ID and Mobile number of the candidate is compulsory. The date, time and venue of the test and other information will be informed through personal email ID/ CG Recruitment website, Applicants, either current or permanent address of online application should be same as the address mentioned in caste/category certificate (SC, ST & OBC).
  3. To fill up "Online" application the candidates need to logon to the Website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in and click on “opportunities” button.
  4. Select the advertisement for Recruitment of Assistant Commandant 01/2022 Batch. Select the post Asst Commandant General Duty (Male)/ Asst Commandant (Engineering & Electrical)– Male to be applied. Click on the 'I Agree' button and the 'Online Application' will be displayed.

Mode Of Selection

  1. The selection of Officer recruits is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidate in various stages (I – V) of examination (explained in detail below) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination. The candidate can apply for a single post only in one recruitment cycle.
