Full Eligibility Details

  • Junior Overman (Trainee) :- Diploma in Mining or Mining engineering or other equivalent qualification approved in that behalf by the Central Government and Valid Overman’s Certificate of Competency from DGMS under Coal Mines Regulation 2017 or any certificate in Mining which entitled to work as Overman as per Coal Mines Regulation 2017 and Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Junior Surveyor (Trainee) :- Diploma in Mining (or) Diploma in Mining engineering (or) Diploma in Mine Surveying (or) Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering (or) National Trade Certificate (NTC) in Surveying and Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency as per CMR 2017.
  • Sirdar (Selection Grade-I) :- Diploma or Degree in any subject other than Mining Engineering and Mining Sirdar Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS and Valid First Aid Certificate. or
  • Diploma in Mining with Overman Competency Certificate issued by DGMS and Valid First Aid Certificate.

Mode Of Selection

Selection will be based on Written Test for 100 marks.

The Question Paper will consist of two parts; Part-I with 30 questions of General Aptitude comprising of Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and General Awareness (at Diploma level) and Part-II with 70 Questions on subject knowledge totally 100 objective type questions with multiple choice answers.

Question Paper for Written Test will have Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions carrying equal mark each, with no negative marks for wrong answer.

Duration of Written Test will be 120 minutes. The Question Paper will be in English Language only.

Minimum qualifying marks in Written Test will be 50% in respect of UR & EWS candidates and 40% in respect SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL candidates, against the reserved vacancies. For PAP candidates eligible for bonus 20 marks, minimum qualifying marks of 50% or 40% as the case may be, will be arrived after adding bonus marks.

Project Affected Persons (PAPs of concerned NLCIL Project notified at para 1.0) will be allowed 20 bonus marks (limited to one beneficiary per award) in the overall marking system. The benefit of bonus 20 marks will be extended only to the PAPs of concerned Projects applying against the vacancies notified for the respective projects.

Final selection will be in the order of merit based on the overall total score of marks obtained in written test by the candidates (plus Bonus marks awarded in case of PAP candidates), ensuring due reservation for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ EWS categories.

In case of tie at cut-off level, (i.e.) more than one candidate scoring same marks (out of 100) at cut-off level, such cases will be resolved by applying the following criteria, one after another, till the tie is resolved:
8.8.1 Date of Birth of the candidates, senior most candidate(s) by age will be placed higher;
8.8.2 Alphabetical order of first name of the candidates.
